Fletcher Kneible in his book on Sarkan (a thinly veiled Vietnam), wrote a description of the Ugly American. The book was immensly popular in the late 1950s, but achieved near stellar prominence in the 1960s with America's involvement in South Vietnam. The book was viewed as a catharsis for liberal America, and at the same time a bludgeon with which to beat conservatives. The problem was, Mr. Kneible did not subscribe to the ideology of the left wing nut cases then active in the United States.
Today, we see the left once again trying to destroy the United States by using tactics such as this:

But Americans, whom I am told, at least for the moment make up most of America these days, are not racist! 66 million of them elected the first black president of the United States (unless Bill Clinton claims that title). It is comments like those from Mr. Silva that are racist and, frankly, unimaginative.
